Getting Started

Welcome to Actualog — a Social PIM platform for structured, reusable product information. This section helps you orient yourself in the UI and understand how our Help is organized so you can move fast from “first login” to “real work”.

How Actualog is organized

Actualog has two working contexts that you will switch between often:

1) Company Workspace (your organization’s work area)

Use Company Workspace when you manage your organization’s operational data:

  • products and variants
  • catalogs (sales, procurement, exhibition, showcase)
  • categories and templates used by your organization
  • users and invitations （for your company）
  • data assets (documents, media library, reference data, AI tools)
  • subscription and billing （for your company）

If you work with multiple companies, you can switch the active workspace using the Company Workspace header/chooser.

2) Explore Communities （industry / domain context）

Use Explore Communities to browse shared, community-level knowledge and discovery:

  • community categories and classification
  • companies visible in a community
  • catalogs published into a community
  • products visible in a community
  • experts and contributors

Communities help align taxonomy, terminology, and discovery rules so that product information becomes comparable across suppliers and customers.

Actualog is designed around a left sidebar that opens nearly all major pages. Typical workflow:

  1. Choose a company (Company Workspace)
  2. Go to Products / Catalogs / Categories / Users / Data Assets
  3. Use the page tools (filters, bulk actions, import, audit, etc.)
  4. Publish or share via catalogs and community visibility

How to use Help in Actualog

Actualog Help is split into complementary types of content:

Concept help (what things are)

Concept topics explain the data model and core terminology (examples):

  • Product, Category, Attribute, Library of Attributes
  • Facet classification
  • Catalogs

Use concept help when you need to understand meaning, rules, and relationships.

UI Reference (pages & screens)

UI Reference explains what each screen does and how to use it:

  • what you can do on the page
  • key controls and actions
  • typical workflows and pitfalls
  • permissions and visibility implications

Use UI Reference when you are on a page and need to know what to do next.

Quick Starts by role

Role-based guides help different teams get value quickly:

  • manufacturers & sellers
  • buyers & engineers
  • experts & moderators
  • integrators / IT
  • developers

Best practice: start simple, then scale (progressive disclosure)

Actualog supports advanced governance, but you don’t need everything on day one. Start with:

  • a small set of categories you truly use
  • the attributes that drive selection and procurement
  • a clean product import flow
  • one “public” catalog for discovery + one “internal” catalog for operations
