Registration Wizard (First Setup)

After you create an account and sign in for the first time, Actualog opens a short Registration Wizard to configure your working context. It takes ~1–2 minutes and you can change everything later in Settings.

The wizard has 3 steps:

  1. Data Languages
  2. Communities
  3. My Profile

Use Save & Next to confirm each step. Back returns to the previous step. Skip lets you postpone the current step (you can finish later in Settings).

Step 1 — Data Languages

This step defines what languages you work with when creating and editing data (names, descriptions, attribute values, etc.).

  • My Languages (left) = languages you actively use in Actualog content.
  • Available Languages (right) = all supported languages you can add.

What to do:

  • Keep English enabled.
  • Add 1–2 languages you реально используете для данных (например, Russian, German, etc.).
  • Remove languages you won’t use (the red ✕ button).

Why it matters:

  • These languages appear in multi-language edit fields and help Actualog decide which translations to show, suggest, and validate.
  • It improves search and collaboration across multilingual teams and communities.

Step 2 — Communities

A Community is a professional domain space (e.g., Energy, Medicine, Electronic components, Software). Communities power discovery: categories, catalogs, products, companies, and experts are organized and searchable inside them.

What to do:

  • Select the communities that match your work now (you can add more later).
  • Don’t over-select. Start with the 2–5 most relevant—this keeps your feed and search results focused.

Why it matters:

  • Communities drive what you see in Explore Communities and improve recommendations (categories to follow, catalogs to view, experts to connect with).

Step 3 — My Profile

This step makes your profile usable for collaboration and search. In Actualog, your profile is part of the “trust layer”: people decide whether to reuse your data or invite you into a company workspace based on the quality of your profile.

Key fields you should fill carefully

  • Photo / Avatar: helps colleagues recognize you.

  • Name: use your real name for professional work.

  • Facets: your expertise tags (chips at the top). Add facets that describe what you do (e.g., procurement, electrical engineering, QA, HVAC). Facets make you searchable to other experts and companies.

  • Country / Currency / Time zone: improves collaboration, timestamps, and pricing/catalog defaults.

  • About me: short, practical description:

    • what you do
    • what products/categories you work with
    • what you can offer or what you’re looking for

Optional fields (can be filled later): phone, birthday, gender.

Save Changes to finish the wizard.

After the wizard

When you complete the wizard, you can immediately:

  • Add a company (Company Workspace → Add company)
  • Explore communities and follow categories/products
  • Start working with products, catalogs, and data assets

Everything can be updated later:

  • Settings → Languages
  • Settings → Communities
  • Settings → Personal (My Profile)

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Not sure yet? Use Skip and finish later—Actualog won’t block you, but your search and recommendations will be less precise until you set this up.
  • Picked the wrong languages/communities? No problem—change them anytime in Settings.
  • Facets feel confusing? Start with 3–7 tags that describe your role and domain; refine later as your work in Actualog grows.
