Auto translation (UI feature)

Actualog supports assisted translation for most multilingual text fields (Name, Description, notes, etc.).

How it works

Next to multilingual fields you will see a Translate button (or translation action).

  • Click Translate to generate text in the selected language.
  • Actualog translates from the first available filled language value (typically English/reference language).
  • The result is inserted into the target language field so you can edit it immediately.

When to use auto-translation

Use it to speed up:

  • first drafts of descriptions,
  • long technical texts (manual-style descriptions),
  • catalog marketing descriptions that you will later review,
  • quick multi-language coverage for discovery.

Important: review is required

Machine translation is a draft, not a final technical or legal wording.

Always review:

  • units and symbols (mm/in, °C/°F),
  • standards notation (DIN/ISO/EN),
  • engineering terms and abbreviations,
  • product safety / compliance statements.
  1. Write the reference English text carefully.
  2. Click Translate into the needed languages.
  3. Review each language and fix terminology.
  4. Save.

Tip: For critical fields (Category/Attribute names), keep translations short, consistent, and aligned with industry vocabulary — this improves search and reduces duplicates.
