Company Profile

A Company Profile is the public page for one company in Actualog. It brings together the company's identity, description, contacts, capabilities, category relationships, example products, communities, team, catalogs, and public assets.

The Company Profile is different from Company Workspace. The profile explains a company to visitors. Company Workspace is the signed-in operational area where an authorized member manages products, catalogs, categories, users, integrations, and subscription settings for the selected company.

Header and actions

The page header shows the company logo, company name, and verification marker when the profile is verified. If the company has a Company hero background media asset, the profile uses it as the header background. If no Company hero background is configured, Actualog can use the legacy wide image or a background image from a linked community. If neither image exists, Actualog shows a branded gradient background so the profile still looks complete.

Depending on your session and permissions, the header can also show:

  • Favorite to follow the company;
  • Edit to update the company profile;
  • History to review recorded company changes;
  • Send Message to contact the company through Actualog;
  • Claim company profile when the company does not yet have a Company Administrator;
  • I work here when the company already has an administrator and you want to request access.

Hero background image

The hero background is controlled by a public Company Profile media placement with the Company hero background type. This is separate from the square company logo and separate from ordinary public profile gallery assets.

Use a wide, clean banner image that represents the company: a factory, product family, service scene, technology diagram, or brand-safe abstract visual. A 3:1 crop, such as 1920 x 640, works best for the header strip. Avoid screenshots with small unreadable text, tall portrait images, or images where important details sit close to the edges.

To make an image appear in the hero background:

  1. Open the company workspace for the company.
  2. Prepare the image in Company Workspace -> Media Assets, or open /assets/create?companyId={companyId} for the selected company.
  3. Set Kind to Image and Type to Company hero background.
  4. Upload or create the image asset.
  5. Save the media asset. Actualog automatically publishes this asset to the public Company hero background placement.
  6. Open /companies/company/{companyUniqueName} and check that the header background changed. There is no separate confirmation button.

If the company does not have a configured Company hero background, Actualog first tries the legacy wide image and then a background image from one of the linked communities. If no background image is available, Actualog intentionally shows a branded gradient background. This is the expected fallback and does not indicate a missing-image error.

The Company gallery section shows only public image media assets that are explicitly linked to the company profile. It does not automatically include every file from Media Assets, product gallery images, catalog covers, square company logos, or the hero background.

If the gallery shows only a few images, it usually means only those images are currently assigned as public Company Profile media.

To add images to the Company gallery:

  1. Open the correct company workspace.
  2. Go to Media Assets, or open /assets/create?companyId={companyId} for the selected company.
  3. Upload the image asset. Use a clear title and description because those fields can be shown in the public profile.
  4. Set Kind to Image and Type to Company gallery image.
  5. Save the media asset. Actualog automatically publishes this asset to the public Company gallery placement.
  6. Reopen the Company Profile and check the Company gallery section.

Profile tabs

The Company Profile can contain these tabs:

  • Overview — description, contacts, capabilities, communities, facets, and team summary;
  • Categories — categories connected to the company and the company's role in them;
  • Products — public products associated with the company;
  • Catalogs — public company catalogs;
  • Assets — public media and data assets associated with the company;
  • Team — people publicly connected to the company;
  • Followers — users following the company;
  • History — recorded profile and relationship changes available to the current viewer.

Tabs can be empty when the company has not published that type of information.

The Assets tab is curated. It shows only public company-profile asset placements, not every file in the company Media Assets library and not every product image or product document. Use Company Profile Assets for the focused rules and filters.

Overview sections

About

The overview begins with the company's localized description. This is the place to explain what the company does, the markets it serves, and its principal products or services.

Contacts

The Contacts section can show the company's location, phone, public email, and website. These are public profile fields, so they should contain business contact information intended for visitors.

Capabilities

Capabilities are based on the company's product-authoring category relationships. Actualog first uses categories where the company is a Brand owner or Manufacturer. If none exist, it can fall back to Designer, Distributor, or Service provider categories.

A capability card can show:

  • a category in which the company works;
  • the company's relationship role, such as Manufacturer or Distributor;
  • example public products from that category;
  • a link to explore more related products.

Consumer and Supplier relationships do not create public company capabilities or company-product results.

A capability does not create a product and does not make the company the owner of every product in that category. It describes an explicit company-category relationship.

Communities and facets

The page can show communities connected to the company and the facets used to describe its activity inside those communities.

Team

The Team section shows users whose company relationship is public. User management permissions and invitations are managed in Company Workspace, not on the public profile.

Who can edit the profile

The page is public, but editing is permission-controlled.

The Edit action is available to:

  • an Application Administrator;
  • a Company Administrator for this company.

Ordinary membership does not automatically grant profile-edit permission.

Verification

A verified badge indicates that Actualog has accepted the company's profile identity and contact evidence. Editing identity or contact fields can require verification to be checked again. A non-admin editor can preserve verified status only when the user's verified email matches the company website domain.

Find a Company Profile

Search for the company by name and open its result. When you ask Hex about a named company, Hex can resolve that company and provide the verified profile URL.
